Gelman Library replaced Forensic Abstracts through the British Forensic Service with Forensic Science Abstracts through Elsevier. Additional subjects covered in the database include Drug Research, Pharmacology, Pharmaceutics, Pharmacy, Drug Side Effects and Interactions, Toxicology, Human Medicine (Clinical and Experimental), Basic Biological Sciences, Biotechnology, Biomedical, Medical Devices, Engineering and Instrumentation, Health Policy and Management, Pharmacoeconomics, Public and Occupational Health, Environmental Health, Pollution Control, Substance Dependence and Abuse, Psychiatry, Alternative and Complementary Medicine, Nursing.

Produced by the International Monetary Fund (IMF), International Financial Statistics is a standard source of international statistics on all aspects of international and domestic finance. Covering most countries of the world, it includes current data on exchange rates, international liquidity, international banking, money and banking. interest rates, prices, production, international transactions, government accounts, and national accounts.

Civil War: A Newspaper Perspective

This database contains the full text of major articles gleaned from over 2,500 issues of The New York Herald, The Charleston Mercury and the Richmond Enquirer, published between November 1, 1860 and April 15, 1865. The text begins with the events preceding the outbreak of war at Fort Sumter, continues through the surrender at Appomattox, and concludes with the assassination and funeral of Abraham Lincoln. Since the major events are described in detail by both Union and Confederate papers, their opposing perspectives are readily available for comparative evaluation.

Historical Statistics of the United States

This database contains over 37,000 statistical time series from the earliest dates of United States history to the most recent available at the time of publication in 2006.

Index Islamicus

The Index Islamicus database indexes literature on Islam, the Middle East and the Muslim world from 1906- present, with links to full-text where available.

Taiwan Wenxian Congkan (Taiwan History: 608-1945)

This database covers a time span from the Tang Dynasty to the Japanese colonial period and incorporates local histories, and official documents of the Ming and Qing Dynasties. The database covers a wide variety of dimensions of Taiwan, including history, geography, local customs, politics, economy, sociology, laws and culture. This resource is searchable in pinyin and Traditional Chinese.

Taiwan Jiho (Taiwan Shibao)

This resource indexes the Japanese magazine Taiwan Shibao, published by the Taiwan Governor House during the Japanese colonial period, 1919-1945. Issues included are politics, industry, trade, transportation, military, education, judiciary, police, civil engineering, technology, handicraft and arts. This resource is searchable in traditional Chinese and Japanese.

Commonwealth Knowledge Bank

iPoll, produced by the Roper Center, is an archive of public opinion poll data, including downloadable datasets. The database features responses to nearly 500,000 opinion questions from 1935 to the present.

Early English Books Online (EEBO)

EEBO contains images of over 100,000 books published in English since 1475. Based on Pollard & Redgrave's "Short Title Catalogue (1475-1640)" and Wing's "Short-Title Catalogue (1641-1700)," plus revised editions and supplements. Subjects covered include English literature, history, philosophy, linguistics, theology, music, fine arts, education, math, and science. Texts continue to be added to the online version as they are scanned from the microfilm.

INSPEC changes platform

INSPEC, a database from the Institution of Electrical Engineers (IEE), has changed platforms from OVID to Elsevier Engineering Village, joining Compendex. Engineering Village allows users to search these two core engineering resources separately or together.

The International Bibliography of Theatre & Dance™ represents a comprehensive multicultural and inter-disciplinary research tool available to theater students, educators and professionals. Initiated by the American Society for Theatre Research and, since 1984, created by the Theatre Research Data Center (TRDC) at Brooklyn College, this database comprises a fully indexed, cross-referenced and annotated databank of over 60,000 journal articles, books, book articles and dissertation abstracts on all aspects of theatre and performance in 126 countries.
